Roskam Takes Aim at President Obama’s Executive Overreach
Washington, D.C. — Congressman Peter J. Roskam, a lifelong supporter of the Second Amendment, released the following statement in response to President Obama’s proposed executive actions:
“I wish I could say I was surprised by the President’s announcement this morning. These proposed actions are just the latest in what has become a disturbing pattern of executive overreach. From IRS targeting of political opponents to NSA spying on Members of Congress, this Administration has shown it has little respect for the constitutional limitations of the executive branch.”
Roskam has been a leading voice against executive overreach, most recently passing the Taxpayers Bill of Rights and Fair Treatment for all Gifts Act to combat IRS abuse. He is a member of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus and has a lifetime A rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA).
