Roskam: President’s Keystone Rejection ‘Dead Wrong'
Nov 6, 2015
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement after President Obama announced his opposition to building the Keystone XL pipeline:
“Today, the President of the United States said no to American jobs, no to North American energy independence, and no to America’s national security interests. Years of rigorous scrutiny by independent experts and his own State Department have concluded that building Keystone XL will not have a significant negative environmental impact. Nevertheless, President Obama has chosen to pander to a small group of radical environmentalists, rather than move forward with constructing a major infrastructure project to boost our economy. The Keystone pipeline is supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans. On this policy, President Obama has gotten it dead wrong.”
