Roskam at GOP Stakeout: When Will the White House Recognize Their Policies Have to Change to Create Jobs?
Eve of the One-Year Anniversary of Recovery Summer
Roskam: "I think it is increasingly clear to most Americans that they look at this Administration as absolutely an obstacle to job creation... when will the White House recognize that it is their policies that have to change in order for us to move forward?"

"The question that has to be asked and the question that has to be answered is where's the White House's credibility as it comes to economic growth? Remember, this is a White House that promised that unemployment would peak, declaratively, at 8% if only the stimulus bill was passed, and that was 28 months ago. Since then, we've had nothing but 28 months of underperformance and ultimately failure.
"This is the White House that said last summer that this was going to be the summer of recovery, and after the summer of recovery and subsequent action, what do we have? 9.1% unemployment. Lagging and nagging. And the White House seems to think that this is somehow a punch line, that this is something to be laughed off and shrugged about.
"I think it is increasingly clear to most Americans that they look at this Administration as absolutely an obstacle to job creation. So the question that I would pose, and I think most House Republicans pose is, when will the White House recognize that it is their policies that have to change in order for us to move forward?"
