Congressman Roskam: “It’s time to move forward with tax reform that will help millions of American families and small businesses...”
West Chicago, IL — Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) voted to pass a federal budget that will promote job creation, secure national defense, strengthen health care, cut spending and reform government. “While there is still work to be done to reconcile House and Senate budgets for FY18, we have taken another crucial step towards passing a budget that will allow us to continue our efforts on tax reform,” said Congressman Roskam, who is Chairman of the Tax Policy Subcommittee on Ways and Means.
“It’s time to move forward with tax reform that will help millions of American families and small business and passing a budget is the first step to making that a reality,” Roskam continued. “We’re pursing aggressive growth and relief for middle-income families. Growth is a priority.”
Congressman Roskam joined leaders from both the House and the Senate to present the American people with a framework to simplify our complicated tax code and put more money into the pockets of millions of middle-class American families and small business owners. This framework will serve as a guide for tax-writing committees that are developing the legislation. The tax reform framework can be found here.
