WASHINGTON, DC–Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) announced that his office has started accepting nominations for the 2014 Congressional Veteran Commendation (CVC). The CVC, in conjunction with the Veterans History Project sponsored by the Library of Congress, is a nominations-based program designed to recognize the wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement of veterans and preserve their stories for future generations.

“I’m extremely proud of our vibrant veterans community here in the Sixth District,” said Congressman Roskam. “These brave men and women who served in our Armed Forces deserve nothing less than our utmost gratitude and appreciation. The Congressional Veteran Commendation is an opportunity to recognize and honor a few of these exceptional individuals who have sacrificed so much for our freedom, security, and prosperity.”
