During this time of increased volatility in the Middle East and strained relationships with both Russia and China, American leadership in world affairs is vital. As a nation, a strong national defense is critical to meet the challenges of a dangerous and shifting global landscape, as well as maintaining relationships with crucial allies. That is why I am proud to be the co-chair for the caucuses of some of the United States’ biggest partners, including the Israel Caucus, the Caucus on India and Indian Americans, and the South Korea Caucus.

In December 2012, Congress enacted the Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act, which required the President to sanction the IRIB. However, waivers on the application of the sanctions have been issued since 2013, even though the IRIB continues its destructive behaviors.
