Roskam Named Ways & Means Tax Policy Chairman
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Representative Peter J. Roskam has been named Ways & Means Tax Policy Chairman for the 115th Congress. From this key legislative perch, he is expected to play a leading role in the first major overhaul of the nation’s tax code in over three decades.
Chairman Roskam issued the following statement:
“We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to fix our broken tax code and enhance American competitiveness for generations to come. I’m honored to hold this important gavel and look forward to putting it to good use shepherding tax reform across the finish line.”
Chairman Roskam previously led the Oversight Subcommittee, where he championed efforts to hold the IRS accountable and overhaul its troubled civil asset forfeiture program.
