President Obama Misses Deadline To Submit ISIS Strategy
Wheaton, IL — Last November, President Barack Obama signed into law the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act. The law required him to present a comprehensive plan to defeat the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). The deadline for the president to submit his strategy to Congress was Monday, February 15, 2016 – yesterday.
U.S. Representative Peter J. Roskam released the following statement on President Obama’s failure to meet his deadline:
“I can’t say I’m surprised President Obama still underestimates ISIS, or, as he likes to call them, the ‘JV squad.’
“This is a president who claimed ISIS was ‘contained’ just nine hours before Paris and blamed the NRA for the horrific terrorist attack in San Bernardino.
“I guess President Obama takes his deadlines as seriously as he does his red lines.”
