Roskam Statement on CBO and OMB Budget Projections
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL) today released the following statement regarding the latest updated budgetary and economic projections from both the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB):
“Today marks yet another day where the Administration is coming forward to admit that their economic decisions have brought grimmer realities than they originally projected. We were promised much better than this: A campaign that decried wasteful Washington spending to now only see more of it. Now Democrats are trying to sell a trillion dollar government-run healthcare option, but with unsustainable economic forecasts like these, the last thing our economy needs is bad policy coupled with far greater debt. It’s long past time for the Administration to cast aside this go-it-alone approach and embrace bipartisan solutions to restore economic growth and create jobs.”
